Links news:

Water feature / splash pad: Work has started on a refurbished Splash Park! We hope it will be open before this summer season.

Grounds maintenance: The longer grass on the 'hairy hills' has been popular and has allowed a few wildflowers to flourish. Fife Council are amenable to stop spraying herbicide around trees and posts.

Public toilets: From spring 2023, the management of the east Links toilets was transferred from Links leaseholders to Fife Council direct management. This resulted in improved mamangeement. In 2024 they had an external refurbishment with new signage added and a clear notice on the opening hours. We continue to press Fife Council and our local Fife Councillors for imporved public toilets and for a Changing Places toilet e.g. at the Beacon Leisure Centre.

Tree planting: In 2022, eight new lime trees were planted in the gaps along the Links edge to complete the tree line. The gaps resulted from tree felled years ago following Dutch elm disease.

Litter bins: Fife Council and Fife Coast and Countryside Trust replaced the bins along the beachj promenade late 2025. Additional new bins were provided at the Links in 2022. Thanks to Fife Council, in 2023, most of the existing Links bins were retrofitted with plastic 'seagull proof' screens. New bins were provided in 2025. PLEASE DO NOT FEED THE GULLS!

Signage: Fife Council has committed to new visitor signage at the west Links car park and around the town centre and new interpretation panels. We hope to see them later this year - 2026.
